The High School enrols pupils from 11-16 year offering a broad and balanced curriculum with the ultimate aim of laying the foundation of a good all round education as a pre-requisite for the future GCSE courses. The Sixth Form Centre offers GCSE’s, NVQ’s, A Levels and BTEC qualifications to Further Education students of 16—18 years.
KEY STAGE 3 – Academics: The main subjects studied at Key Stage Three are: English Language, English Literature, Mathematics, Science (Combined Physics, Chemistry, Biology), Religious Education, French, History, Geography and Information Technology. Practical Arts: Drama, Art, Design Technology – (Food Technology, Textiles, Resistant Materials and Graphics, Music, Physical Education, Swimming, PSHE (Personal, Social & Health Education) and Horticulture are also studied.
KEY STAGE 4 – At the end of Year 9, pupils are given the opportunity to choose up to 5 options to add to the five core subjects – English Language, English Literature, Double Science, Mathematics and Religious Education based on their academic interest. The options are: French, History Geography, Information Technology, Business Studies, Art, Design Technology – Resistant Materials, Food Technology, Textiles and Child Development.
